October 7th - 9th, 2012 at the Rodeway Inn in Medina, Ohio ( map )

The World 11-Man Ballot Match between GM Alex Moiseyev (current champion, Dublin, Ohio) and GM Richard Beckwith (challenger, Willoughby, OH) is scheduled to play a 16 game match on October 6-9, 2012. Dates are Saturday thru Tuesday, with the option of possibly playing an additional 4 games (tie breaker play-off) on Wednesday, October 10th. This 11-Man Ballot WTM will start (first day) at the Cleveland Public Library (Main Library in downtown Cleveland) [map], and complete the rest of match, playing October 7-9th at the Rodeway Inn in Medina, Ohio [map]. Joe LoConti helped sponsor this WTM. Steve Holliday will be the official referee/scorekeeper and John Acker-Media/Video Specialist will cover the match.
Keep in mind, the John G. White chess and checkers special collection is also at the Cleveland Public Library. A great time to visit while in the Cleveland area.

World 11-Man Ballot Match Results: Alex Moiseyev successfully defended his world 11-man ballot title in a 16-game match by defeating Richard Beckwith 4-0 with 9 draws. The match was held Oct. 6-9. The first three games were held at the Cleveland Public Library. The remainder of the match was played at Rodeway Inn, Medina, OH. Both venues provided free playing room. Prize fund of $800 was split 60-40. Steve Holliday was referee, and John Acker provided LiveStream internet coverage. Special thanks go to donors: Joe LoConti ($1000) and Bryce Morville ($100). Alan Millhone donated winner’s plaque, scoresheets, and subbed as referee for one game. Challenger R.
